RK Engineering has work with various commercial market establishments thru the years. The Vons per this project is located in the Brentwood-Pacific Palisades planning area. The Vons property is an irregular-shaped, through parcel, having a frontage of approximately 151 feet on the east side of Sunset Boulevard and approximately 315 feet on the north side of Pacific Coast Highway. The property is designated as Neighborhood Commercial land use. Per this project, we offered our client engineering services in signal design, signing & striping, street lighting and worksite traffic control. The main challenge to this project was the off-set alignment of the proposed driveway entry to the existing T-intersection layout. RK Engineering working closely with the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation was able to provide proper downhill left turn entry into the Vons parking lot as well as for vehicular cross traffic created a safer and more visible lane of entry.
